We recognise that child safety is an important issue for anyone who is furnishing their home. This has now been recognized in law too.
The crux of the regulation is to MAKE IT SAFE but that does mean there needs to be a little more thought applied to what solution is installed to ensure they are child safe.
Regulation EN13120 means cord or chain operated blinds can only be installed with a safety breaker and/or retention bracket or cleat to reduce the risk of strangulation to children and vulnerable persons.
